Who we are
Free State Research LLC is a Kansas public-opinion research firm and the registered sender of our text messages. This policy explains how we handle information collected when you take one of our surveys, opt in to our text messages, or contact us.
Information we collect
- Survey responses you provide when you participate in a study.
- Contact information — including a mobile phone number — used solely to invite you to research and to record your participation and opt-out preferences.
- Basic technical data (e.g., device/browser type) when you visit our survey pages.
- Public voter records. For election and political research, we may match a phone number you give us to the public Kansas voter registration list. That shows whether you are a registered voter, your county, party registration, age and gender, and which past elections you voted in (never how you voted). We use it only to check who is taking part and to weight results so they reflect Kansas voters.
We do not require sensitive personal identifiers to participate.
How we use information
We use it to conduct and analyze research and to deliver aggregated findings to our clients. Individual responses are reported in aggregate; we do not sell your responses.
Mobile information & text messaging
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors that support our services (for example, our messaging platform) is limited to what is necessary to deliver those services. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.
Your choices
You can opt out of our text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for help. To request access to or deletion of your information, email info@freestateresearch.com.
Data retention & security
We retain research data only as long as needed for the study and related analysis, and we apply reasonable safeguards to protect it.
